In The Capital City the artist depicts one of her favourite painting subjects, Malta’s capital city Valletta. The scene features the iconic dome of the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and to its left, the equally recognisable landmark of the spire of St. Paul's Anglican Pro-Cathedral. The architecture is bathed in the soft pink light which can so frequently be observed from this vantage point across the water, conveying the warm tranquility of the Mediterranean dusk.
