In series two of Artist Secrets, Allura invites you for a rare and exclusive look behind the scenes with some of Malta’s most exciting contemporary artists, as we reveal their creative secrets and the materials and techniques they use to create their work. Each episode follows the making of a new and previously unseen piece of original art as it is brought to life.
The Artists
In this series and with the broader Allura Art collection, Allura works to identify the collectible artists of the future, while promoting and sharing the work of these reputable local painters, in all its character and diversity.
The series follows eight of the artists featured in the Allura Art gallery, with a further special episode dedicated to gifted local art student, Ylenia Schembri, two-time winner of the prestigious Sovereign Student Art Prize for Malta and Gozo.
The eight visual artists from Allura Art are Kevin Sciberras, Bob Cardona, Natasha Dadush, Marianne Ogden, Jo Dounis, Vania Goshe, Andrew Smith and Christine Porter Lofaro.
Allura’s signature ‘open studio’ format is all about shifting the emphasis from finished paintings to the process of making them. By going behind the scenes, Allura endeavours to create meaningful and engaging connections between artists and art lovers.
The series is produced by Allura, with hosting by Laura Swale and filming by Bernadett Mozer. The Artists Secrets series is part of the Allura Open Art Studios Programme, which is supported by Arts Council Malta through the Programme Support Scheme. The programme is produced in collaboration with the Corinthia Palace Hotel and Attard and Co. Art materials are by Royal Talens in collaboration with Art Store Malta.
