Windy Sunset Over the Harbour depicts St Julian’s Bay, an urban stretch of the Maltese coastline on the south-eastern side. The painting was created using gouache paints and the alla prima technique. It shows the interplay of sunlight and the water, with reflections of the sunset and clouds on the surface of the sea. Windy Sunset Over the Harbour was created for the second series of Artist Secrets to demonstrate the unique features of gouache paint through a range of techniques.
