Boats at Sea depicts a serene scene with three typical Maltese boats lying motionless at the fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Generally used for catching fish, the Maltese luzzu boats are painted in the traditional colours of red, blue and yellow. Counterbalancing the colourful hues of the boats is the deep blue of the sea taking up most of the foreground.
