The style of painting used in Valley represents a departure from the artist’s usual aesthetic. This piece is one of the her early attempts at abstracting a landscape, primarily with the use of colour and texture. Valley was created in 2016 when the artist first started to paint regularly, and during a period when she developed a keen interest in a more abstract depiction of her subjects.
