April brings with it strawberries. The small village of Mgarr in Malta celebrates this with a strawberry festival, where all the village gets together to celebrate a yearly event where everything strawberry goes. The idea for Strawberry Festival came through an elderly neighbour who gave a box of freshly picked strawberries to the artist. Their luminance inspired her to work on this still life.
