International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day 2022 falls on Tuesday March 8th. To celebrate the occasion, Allura’s female artists were interviewed for an article in the Sunday Times of Malta.

In the article the seven women talk about their love of painting, the challenges and rewards of being an artist, goals for the future and how being a woman plays into their artistic journey.

In this latest blog post we bring you some quotes from the artists which were not included in the article, plus a selection of paintings by the artists featured.

What is the purpose of your art?

“My desire is for my art to connect with people on a deeply emotional level, to be something which inspires positive feelings like calm, serenity, wonder and joy.” Jo Dounis.
